Last week in New York, Virtual Magician Marco Tempest was spied engaged in what he reports to be one of his favorite activities – taking a leisurely stroll across a lake in Central Park – on top of the water! As the Virtual Magician, a time-traveling Marco Tempest re-creates the mysteries of the ages in order to revive a sense of the miraculous in his viewers. Last week in New York, Tempest was spied engaged in what he reports to be one of his favorite activities – taking a leisurely stroll across a lake in Central Park – on top of the water! The feat has apparently not been accomplished (except through camera trickery) for over 2,000 years! Cameramen were not as fortunate at Tempest, and were seen immersed up to their chests in the cold waters of the lake, attempting to catch the feat on video tape for the latest episode of Tempest’s “Virtual Magician” TV series set to air in 50 different markets beginning in the spring of 2004. Stunned passersby stopped and watched for half and hour or more. One commented, “I never thought I’d live to see this. I’ve never really believed in miracles, but now I’ve see it with my own eyes!” When asked about how he has learned to walk on water, Tempest would only say, “I grew up by a large lake in Switzerland, as a magician. You come to understand that everything is an illusion. Mysteries and wonder surround us all the time – it’s just that most people fail to see them.”
