Cisco “Networkers” in Cannes
Tempest’s Tricks delight high-tech VIPs for Cisco at the “Palais de Festivals” in Cannes.

Cisco Systems, Inc. is the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet. Each year, the company sponsors a special conference for its best customers worldwide. They describe it this way (from Cisco web site): “Networkers, Cisco Systems' annual user conference, is the most important conference in the networking industry. Whether you've attended Networkers before, or you're new to the conference, you'll find many ways to take your network, your company, and your career to the next level.” This year, at the "Palais des Festivals" in Cannes, Cisco, Marco Tempest’s magic was one of the highlights of the Networkers Conference. He performed three separate, fully customized shows, each lasting from 25-30 minutes, for different portions of the conference. Each show was tailored to its specific audience and purpose, with special versions of Marco’s Digital Countdown, and The Magic Touch kicking off each one. Pieces like “Networked Minds” in which over a thousand network technicians suddenly discover they are all thinking the same bizarre thing at the same time delighted. An amazing presentation of “Switched” found Marco amazing Enrico Deluchi, managing director, EMEA Business Development and Marketing with a series of what appeared to be simple, old fashioned switches and colored light bulbs on a plain piece of board that behaved much like an intelligently networked set of hardware. One of his newest works “Video Spiral” warped the minds and perceptions of assembled marketers and engineers. Pieces such as the amazing “Coverage” in which audience members punch random digits into another audience member’s cellular phone, and the number turns out to be the number of Marco’s cell phone, and “Puzzled” in which a random audience member chooses a random piece from one of 1500 in a clear box, which just HAPPENS to complete a jigsaw puzzle with the company’s logo on it, completely baffled and delighted the assembled tech executives. Each show ran between 25 and 30 minutes, and each was specially customized to fit the Cisco style and the purpose and audience for each event. Cisco Systems, Inc. is the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet – and Marco Tempest is the world’s top Cyber-Illusionist. The Cisco name has become synonymous with the Internet, as well as with the productivity improvements that Internet business solutions provide. At Cisco, the vision is to change the way people work, live, play and learn. With the Magic of Marco Tempest, they were able to inspire, entertain and educate their top customers and partners in a style befitting the world’s number one networking company.
