AXIEM AWARDS ANNOUNCES 2002 WINNERS Rapid City, SD – June 28th, 2002 – The Third Annual 2002 AXIEM AWARDS winners were announced today, with The Virtual Magician being named for three separate awards. The AXIEM AWARDS is an International competition recognizing Absolute eXcellence In Electronic Media. Nearly 1600 entries were received for the 2002 competition. There are two levels of national recognition. The COPPER AXIEM is the top honor given to only 9% of this year's entrants. The SILVER AXIEM is awarded to finalists, given to only 28% of the 2001 entrants. 3 COPPER AXIEM AWARD(S) were presented to Newmagic Communications Inc.. Their work in television for The Virtual Magician was recognized for achieving the AXIEM AWARDS standard of excellence. Brian Busch, Executive Director of the AXIEM AWARDS says, "Entries are accepted in Television, Video, Film, Radio, Audio, Animation, the World Wide Web and Interactive Media. The competition was created to honor Absolute eXcellence in Electronic Media on a national level. The caliber of work entered in the 2002 AXIEM AWARDS is second to none. It truly is the best of the best. We receive work from all sizes of companies and markets. This year entries were received from all 50 states, Canada, the United Kingdom and Mexico, now making the AXIEM AWARDS an International Competition." AXIEM AWARDS judges are nominated by a distinguished panel of industry leaders. Judging is based on a point system in four areas: innovation, creativity, technical merit and overall experience of the piece. The AXIEM AWARDS sets the standard for creative communication and production excellence by establishing a "level playing field" for all entries. Each entry is judged solely on its own merits against an absolute standard of excellence created for each medium, market, and category, not one another.
