The Marco Mouse, one of the latest creations of Marco Tempest, was featured this week on ARD television’s “Televisionen” show, as one of the top 10 electronic creations of 2001. Others on the list included Sony’s Aibo robot dog, JVC’s new GR-DVP-3 pocket camcorder, Hometronic’s automated home control systems, Thomson’s NaviVox media control system, and a 306 degree camera, among others. Televisionen was set up as an entertaining showcase of the “best of” IFA, one of the world’s largest electronics trade shows. Marco Tempest, creator of the Marco Mouse, was featured in three separate spots on the show, including one in which he demonstrated the awesome capabilities of the Marco Mouse, which gives it’s user the kind of controls outside the computer that a normal mouse does inside the computer. Tempest used the mouse to bed the 75 meter high Berlin "Funkturm", interrupt and shrink the well-known TV host Carmen Nebel and even affect audience members watching the show live with various fun and mischief. A well-known star of television and the stage throughout Germany and Switzerland, Tempest was selected not only for his notoriety, but because his invention, the Marco Mouse was among the top ten new innovations of the year. Others featured on the star-studded line-up included Vanessa Mae, Peter Maffay, Yamboo, Lisa Stansfield, Ziehm, Vikinger, and No Angels.
